Scrapbook organization - tips for organizing your scrap booking

ORGANIZATION

Organization can be one of the biggest tasks for scrapbookers. Space available and scrap book supplies vary but certain rules remain constant. Here are a few tips to help make your scrapbook organizing a little easier.

Together Forever — Take some time to place all of your scrapbooking supplies in one place. Keep your pens together, scrapbooking templates in one place, rulers in another, etc. When scrap book supplies are grouped together by type, not brand it will be much easier to assess your storage needs.

Shopping List — After sorting through all of your scrapbook supplies, write it all down. Make a list of all punches you have, name of colored pens, etc. Also, a supply note listing scrapbooking products you need to order, or purchase at your favorite scrapbook store.

Labels — If possible, use see-through containers for storage, otherwise be sure these products stay together, with all other scrapbook supplies clearly and concisely labeled.

Within Your Reach — Place items used daily in easy to access areas. Your paper should be accessible, and frequently used tools and scrapbook supplies within arms reach. Investing in shelves for your scrapbooking supplies is a good idea for dedicated scrapbookers. (Remember, unsealed wood should not be used to store albums, papers and stickers because there is lignin in wood.) Use shelves for your pens, stamps, and cutting tools. Craft drawers, or utility units, are handy for small items like die cuts, punches, small stickers, etc.

Where Ever You Go — Keeping a special tote packed with all the scrapbooking supplies you need is recommended for those that may crop while waiting for your kids at baseball practice, or crop at other scrap booking locations. That way, you don’t have to think about what you need to gather up; it’s all ready in a moments notice! We recommend Memory Tote or Crop Station by Generations.

Oh Where Is That? — Keep scrapbooking supplies where they belong when you are done using scraps of paper put them in a designated box or accordion file so that they can be used the next time.

Scrapbooking Supplies R Us® will be happy to help you with all of your scrapbook supplies and any scrap booking questions that you may have.
