Making Memories was founded by Bridgette Server before 1997 making scrapbook supplies from her garage. In 2004, Petersen gained full control of the company and moved Ms. Server upstairs to the company board, which she's served on for some time. Today, Ms. Server's and Petersen's fingerprints are no longer on the company, but their CEO, Dan Nelson, has built a formidable business boasting a supply chain infrastructure that fills over 90% of their orders on time for their new owners, Advent. Their die cut scrapbook papers and rhinestone embellishments make their way to some independent stores and for some time their tag curling concept was also popular. Their new corporate strategy is to introduce easy to use scrapbook products for beginning scrapbooking applications. The first item they have toward this end is the Slice, which Mr. Nelson is directly responsible for.
