Oh the "Merry"mint of American Crafts
Hi everyone. It's me, Sarah, and I just wanted to let you in on a little secret -- the American Crafts Merrymint line is absolutely adorable!! Okay, okay… so that's not really a secret because anyone can figure that out just by looking at this product line. :)
Anyway, who wouldn't love a Christmas line with cute little santas, reindeers, snowflakes, and basically all things wintery?!
The best part about this line are the cute designs. It reminds me of a cutesy version of The Gingerbread Man story. The rooftops of the houses look frosted, and the gingerbread people look good enough to eat.
When Holly gave me these papers to work with, I got right to it. Here's a layout using some of the papers:
I cut out some of the houses and the trees from one of the patterned papers to create a wintery scene at the bottom of my layout. Not only did it create my wintery scene, but it also framed my photos. Two in one -- that's my kind of scrapping.
I also got around to making a card with this line. With some of my scraps and a couple pieces of ribbon, I created this:
Want a tutorial on this tree?!
Yes…? No…? Well, I'm going to give one to you anyways because I feel like being generous.
1. Cut strips of scrap paper in various lengths ranging from 3.5" to .5".
2. Cut strips of coordinating ribbons in various lengths ranging from 3.5" to .5".
3. Layer both paper and ribbon strips while adhering each strip to the card starting from the bottom (longer strips) to the top (shorter strips).
On top of these projects, this line also works well with Christmas recipes/baking photos! Holly created a mini album of her son making a mess, ooops, I mean baking cookies for Christmas. It turned out so cute! …so if you want to make a recipe book or share recipe cards as a gift, this line would be a definite choice!
American Crafts never fails to not only create adorable papers, but their embellishments are phenomenal as well. All it took for Holly to put this mini album together was a few sheets of patterned paper, her handy scallop punches, a vial of glitter of course, and these amazing embellishments. The flair and dimensional stickers are a no brainier in terms of the perfect embellishment for your holiday projects!
See! Isn't this line such a "merry"mint?! If you haven't already, make sure to pick up some of this sweetness in the store. Go get started on your Christmas projects.
