Hi! We had a fabulous turnout at Scrap Pink! I wanted to share my make & take with those of you who were unable to make it this year. It is a quick and easy way to add a little embellishment for your card or layout using scraps of paper and your punches. What's terrific about this is that you can custom design your punched embellishment to match your card or layout by using matching designer paper!
Start by punching out different shapes and sizes. You can make it easy on yourself by using matching paper or be creative by trying miscellaneous scraps like we did at the make & take. Let me tell you those ladies at my tables made really pretty flowers using what paper I had lying around! Some even added their flowers to a layout they were working on during the event!
For dimension, I like to take my punched shapes and wrinkle them up. You can fold the shape once or twice. Then squish them like this:
After your shape is wrinkled to your liking, you may notice that the ends are starting to peel apart. This is not true with ALL designer paper. Some may not peel apart at all. Some might start to peel apart right away... some others might need a little extra help. This is something you may have already tried if you have tried out the "Faux Suede" technique.
Now do the same to all of the other pieces and layer according to the size (biggest on the bottom to the smallest on top).
You will need to make a hole in the center of your pieces. Something has to hold them together, right? So here is my Crop-A-Dile. It is marker "S" for small and "L" for my large stickers.
You will need to fold a bit of the piles if you have a very large piece on there. Then slip it into the side that has the smallest of holes.
Then insert either a brad or an eyelet. This will hold the layers together!
I made this card for display at the store.
I hope that you can take this tutorial and make something for yourself... let me know if you do! I would love to see what you come up with!
Fab tutorial!!!
LOVE how they came out! They look like Prima paper flowers. But soo much cheaper. I will totally have to try this!
Thanks so much for sharing!!
