 My Love

Today's tutorial has a more artsy approach to it. This week's tutorial will be based on the above layout which features Basic Grey's Picadilly line.

Here are the steps.

1) Use a white cardstock as the base for this layout. I've used a scallop die-cut to trace on the cardstock and cut out the scallop edges. Hand stitch a huge square around its edges.

2) Cut out a long rectangular piece from the flowery pattern paper and attach it vertically on the layout.

3) Also cut out another smaller rectangular piece from the orange pattern paper and attach it to the right of the layout.

4) Cut out a third rectangular piece from the light green pattern paper and attach it vertically in the middle of the pieces in step (2) and step (3).

5) Attach a strip of green gingham ribbon vertically and use some huge brads on each end.

6) Distress the edges of the photograph and attach it on the layout.

7) Add a strip of black ribbon vertically in the middle of the layout and 3 separate strips of white ribbon horizontally on the top, middle and bottom of the layout. Detail each strip of ribbon with brads.

8) Add 3 chipboard frames on the top, right and bottom of the layout. Also attach some flowers on each frame and a bulb in the middle frame. Cut out some leaves from the pattern paper and attach them to the flowers.

9) Use some white gesso and a paintbrush to paint some gesso randomly all over the frames, flowers, bulbs, ribbons and brads.

10) Use some perfect pearls mists and glimmer mist to mist randomly all over the layout and on top of areas with gesso. Also drip some alcohol inks on the frames.

11) Cut out some butterflies from the pattern paper and attach it on the frames. Also dress up the frames with some rhinestones. Detail the leaves with some Stickles.

12) Add a strip of green netting horizontally across the layout.

13) Cut out some words and attach them to the top left, on the top frame and bottom right of the layout. Use a tiny attacher to secure them in place.

14) Lastly, use some alpha stickers to form the title in the bottom frame.

I'll see you all in March! Happy creating!

xx Irene Tan
