Big & Small

This week I would like to share a detail step by step tutorial based on the above layout which features the beautiful Welcome Home line by Bo Bunny.  I really love all the blues, browns and greens in this line.

Here are the steps to it.

1) Use a pattern paper at the base of the layout. Distress its edges and ink it with distress ink.

2) Cut out a big rectangular piece from the brown pattern paper and attach it horizontally on the layout. Then, cut a wide strip from the green pattern paper and ink its edges with distress ink. Attach it vertically in the middle of the layout.

3) Now, cut out the white pattern paper piece from another pattern paper and distress its edges. Ink it with distress ink and attach it on the bottom of the layout. On the right of this piece, use a chipped sapphire distress stain to paint randomly and add some stripe of midnight blue Stickles afterwards. Also add a strip of velvet ribbon horizontally on this piece.

4) On the top half of the layout, add a strip of blue netting horizontally. Distress the edges of the photograph and ink it with distress ink. Attach it to the layout. Use a picket fence distress stain to paint a frame around the photograph and hand stitch along the painted frame. Detail it with brads in each corner.

5) Attach some chipboard sticker tags on the top, left and lower right of the photograph. Also attach a strip of rhinestones on top of it.

6) Cut out a spoon and fork from the pattern paper and attach them to the bottom of the layout using foam 3d dots or foam adhesives.

7) I've used the Sizzix Tattered Floral dies to create the flowers using some of the leftover papers and some Kraft Glassine papers. Scrunch up the Kraft Glassine paper first before running it through the dies. Ink all the flowers before layering them. On the bigger flowers, I've added some resin flower embellishment which I've painted with alcohol ink. On the smaller flowers, I've added a rhinestones  in the middle of it. Dress up all the flowers with Midnight Blue Stickles.

8) I've misted some grungeboard alphas with Denim Color Wash to create the word "BIG". I've also distress it a little by dabbing some picket fence distress stain on it. The "&" and "small" is created using some foam and sticker alphas.

Hope you all enjoyed today's tutorial. Check back next week for another tutorial from me! Happy scrapping!
